JOLLY TSANG WING LAM
MA (Mus), BA(Hons), LTCL, DipABRSM, AmusTCL
Born in Hong Kong and now based in Warrington, North West England, Jolly Tsang (Wing Lam) is a classical pianist whose artistry unites performance, collaboration, and teaching. She began studying piano at the age of five, a passion that has grown into a lifelong pursuit of musical excellence.
Before entering university, Jolly was awarded the LTCL Diploma and DipABRSM in Piano Performance, laying the foundation for her advanced musical studies. She later earned her Bachelor of Arts in Music from Hong Kong Baptist University, majoring in piano under Prof. Raymond Young and Dr. Kawai Chan. She went on to complete her Master’s degree in Music Performance at the University of Chichester, studying with pianist Mako Mori. Complementing her performance training, she also holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Piano Teaching, reflecting her dual dedication to artistry and education.
As a performer, Jolly has presented her graduate recital and remains active in collaborative and chamber music projects. She frequently works with instrumentalists, embracing the richness and dialogue that ensemble playing brings. Her international experience includes attending a masterclass in Austria with pianist Sibylla Joedicke, where she was selected to perform in the final public concert at the historic Fresco Hall of Schloss Zell an der Pram.
Alongside her performance career, teaching forms a central part of Jolly’s professional life. She currently serves as Head of Piano and Keyboard at Warrington Music Studios and teaches piano at The Hammond School. Deeply inspired by Prof. Edward Ho, former ABRSM examiner, her teaching reflects a blend of creativity, clarity, and patience. She nurtures learners of all levels through a holistic approach that values both technical mastery and musical expression. Her philosophy centres on developing not only pianistic skill but also creativity, confidence, and a lifelong love for music.
